iNVENTA showcases work from students on our Foundation year, a programme that offers a broad grounding in creative and academic practices to prepare students for progression to one of six specialist host courses within Westminster School of Arts (BA Fine Art Mixed Media, BA Photography, BA Contemporary Media Practice) or Westminster School of Media and Communication (BA Animation, BA Illustration and Visual Communication, BA Graphic Communication Design).
The foundation year introduces fundamental principles and debates across contemporary creative fields, enables specific skills development and experimentation in the many specialisms above, and culminates in self-directed projects in response to a range of topics. iNVENTA evolved from research and discussions around the theme of identity, which these budding creatives have explored with incredible ingenuity despite the isolation and limitations imposed by the pandemic.
Whether finding insight and expression through self-portraiture or discovering perspectives and stories through observing others, the works in iNVENTA investigate individual, collective, and shifting identities with sincerity, playfulness, and curiosity. Discover them here.
